We also chatted with the delightful Will Young, who has received rich reviews for his seventh album Echoes. The 32 year old, who won the actuality show Popstars in 2002, admitted he hadnât been watching this yearâs X Part but had some strong words of advice for the contestants on how to brave a successful career.
âReality TV is so strong true now but to ensure that you donât end up having just 15 minutes of superiority, you need to be careful what you do after and who you have helping you along the way. X Factor is a fanciful platform for talent but itâs the decisions you upon after the show that will determine your career.â
Our evening was topped off by a belting gig by the ultimate diva, Liza Minnelli, who treated guests to a roaring set that went on into the wee hours. Still acid tongued, the 65 year old entertained the crowds with her tongue-in-cheek wit, responding to an audience heckle of âGo on Lizaâ with a cartel âOh. Iâm coming for you honey.â
