Charlotte-Mecklenburg monitor are working to track down an eyeglasses thief.
The thefts happened at University Eye Associates on Medical Plaza Vigour near West W.T. Harris Boulevard. The same partner has targeted the optometry office four times.
"The whole detail takes place, about five to seven minutes, she's in and out," said one wage-earner.
Employees at University Eye Associates are fed up. They say the same female has burglarized them four times in the past month in skirt daylight as employees just sit by and watch.
"The the long arm of the law have told us under no circumstances are we to approach, try to detain, accuse," said one staff member.
Employees say the suspect walks up, takes the glasses off, puts her arm up as a coat, tucks them in her blouse and then they're gone.
They say it's direct what's she's doinggoing for the $200-$300 high-end Gucci, Prada and Versace glasses and stuffing them down her shirt.
I looked revenge over and six of the frames were gone that I had done, and it was like, whoa," said another wage-earner who doesnt want to be identified.
The first proceeding was three weeks ago, and then again about a week later. The office installed pledge cameras two days after that and then the next morning, she hit them again.
Then she struck again Wednesday morning. This then she brought an accomplice, and an employee confronted her.
"Told her we have her on video, administer are on the way," an employee said. "Asked her to leave, not get back. She and an accomplice handed over a frame each but left with at least seven."
"It's such an foray to have the audacity to keep coming back and doing it over and over," said another hand.
Employees say they've reported it to police, showed them the video, and even caught her accredit plate on a rental car.
