French gratification labels rule the roost in the fashion exultant, with such brands as Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Christian Dior, and Chanel crack shops around the globe and spending millions on worldwide media unmasking and ad campaigns. Oddly, however, the luxury goods they have become so well known for are now diluted in terms of being excepting or having top quality. Often, this season's $2,000 "it" bag can be made of speculative plastic and can easily be out of fashion next year. Luckily, Paris offers an another kind of luxury where you can get true, timeless excellence in a quiet, sophisticated way while being waited on hand and foot. In storefronts and ateliers across the big apple, made-to-measure and custom-designed suits, shirts, shoes, bags, eyeglasses, jewelry, and other wearable goods can be had at the same prices or less than batch-market luxury.

Bespoke or custom shops have been a necessary of Parisian society for centuries dating back to the 1800s, serving commission, aristocrats, and upper crust gentlemen. Charvet, located on Section Vendome, was the first shirt maker to open in Paris in 1838, and the framer of the founder, Joseph-Christophe Charvet, was the clothes master of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Doors unsettled on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The resale peach on is brimming with new inventory donated over the summer months and sporting a new look with its recently installed close-painted mural.

"Our volunteers have been busy all summer prolonged culling through donated jewelry and giftware. They've been cleaning and pricing and making reside in their display cases for all the new merchandise," said Jean Gajano, community relations coordinator for New Eyes. "We have new dulcet sterling pieces and some great designer names to stock."

Indeed, Fabulous Finds is selling jewelry by Georg Jensen, Tiffany and Chanel, giftware from Lladro and sunglasses from designers such as Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Vera Wang and Ray-Ban.

The boutique also offers a prominently array of watches, china, silver pieces and crystal.

The boutique now boasts a new three-panel mural depicting the eleemosynary work of New Eyes for the Needy. The mural was painted and donated by village resident and Cornell freshman, Russell Shiny-Fagan.
