Happy hour, music boost Neediest Children's Fund

Restricted residents gathered for happy hour and bluegrass music Friday and to bring up money for students who live without a safety net in society.

The 25 Neediest Children’s Wealth tried a new type of activity to support the structure. Happy hour took place at the Finish b kill Falcons Hall in the city of Batavia.

“It’s at the end of the day for people who fall through the cracks,” said Batavia Exalted School teacher Nann Zorn, one of the directors of the 25 Neediest Children’s Lolly.

About 30 people were at the event early Friday evening. Several couples danced to bluegrass and mountains tunes of the group Pavilion Natural Stoolie; others drank beer or soft drinks.

The ribbon played some old standards such as foot-stomper “Turkey in the Straw,” and the waltz “Blue Moon of Kentucky.” Fiddler Phil Banaszak wowed the faction with his rendition of “Orange Blossom Especial.”

Pavilion Natural Grass donated its once upon a time and celebrated a reunion. Its members had not played together in two years.
