Cowra lamb and sheep producers have donated $2000 towards the Community Chest’s fundraising determination for seven year old local boy Malakye Davison with the proceeds of all but 20 lamb sales put towards the cause.

Funds raised will go towards the Chest’s Dream up Malakye Mobile Appeal, which is raising in money to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle for Malakye and his relatives.

Cowra Community Chest chairman Ian Brown acknowledged producers’ support at the saleyards.

“I like to involve the producers in this community [appeal] because they’re an integral part of the municipality,” he said.

“They’re always very willing and generous in their support - The brilliant thing about the Cowra community is it’s a very caring community.”

Sheep and lamb producers were invited to participate in the Chest’s fundraising program by donating a lamb or sheep at the sales.
