Over the last six weeks, they have collected somewhere around 800 gallons of sap from 50 maple trees and cooked it up into close to 18 gallons of pure, golden syrup.

Besides bottling the syrup, Lynnette uses it to lift maple candies and maple sugar-coated pecans.

The syrup and candies are for purchasing at the state-licensed sugar house on their holding just north of Mt. Morris.

Rob said he became interested in making maple syrup or "sugaring" to carry on with a family tradition.

His great-grandfather Ralph Point of view owned a farm with a stand of maple trees that he tapped each year to act as if get by syrup.

Angle's daughter, Ginny Hough, is Rob's grandmother.
