Last week a small number of Ukrainian medical professionals added two firsts to their roll of experience; taking their first steps in Canada and celebrating Thanksgiving with village Rotarians.

During October five Ukrainian professionals will be touring Alberta during a Organize Study Exchange sponsored by Rotary Global.

Local Rotarian David Gamracy welcomed the Ukrainians on Oct. 9 and shared a big Thanksgiving wine at George and Phyllis Webb's farm along with Vermilion Rotary Baton president Scott Webb and his family.

"The unit has never had a Thanksgiving dinner, they don't celebrate it in Ukraine," said Gamracy adding how another beau Rotarian Barry Gordey also hosted two visitors for their first Thanksgiving at his homewards.

The group then visited the Staden bison and elk acreage where they had the chance to ride horses.

Fun and games aside, the class from Ukraine traveled to the Great White North to conform to and learn about their profession and witness differences between what they're acclimated to to back home and how their professions operate in Canada.

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- An wrinklies man is recovering in the hospital and a woman was sexually assaulted after a retreat invasion Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. at a dwelling-place on Northwest 93rd Terrace. Police said two men wearing Screech masks entered the home and pistol whipped an ancient resident.
