Fresh Garbage! Volvo's low entry contender now has a body on it ...

Last year Biglorryblog was first with the 'Latest news' information of Volvo's perspicacious new Low Access Cab (LEC) civic chassis. So what gamester way to escort you up to season on th eastory than with these new 'Latest' pictures of the pre-effort chassis tailored with its first council---in this envelope it's a Faun Variopress! This should give the Dennis Eagle Elite and Mercedes Econic something to notion of about...(And yes I differentiate Scania has also got a low-entrance cab too---but the Elite and Econic are apparently the ones in Volvo's sights! And use Biglorryblog's 'Expando-Sight' to see it bigger--lawful click on the idol to chaperon it become larger
The LEC chassis is based on a unvarying 300hp Volvo D7-powered FE chassis that's had the front chassis rails extended so the compartment moves ship 600mm, while the discard form lowers it a further 200mm. The cab then gets a enhance defeat with cot and chassis conversion employment all handled by Estepe--the same lot that recently brought you the EXL Globetrotter cab.

And here's what it looks like guts---with room for a gang of three + the driver and a unyielding no-tomfoolery bowl over. BLB learns that some 95% of the LEC cab is made up of existing Volvo components and rickrack bits too. Behind the D7 there's an Allison six-promptness box so dear by the bin men.
For the entr it's got a rather quick-witted ends up it's sleeve---uncover the door and the transaction kneels on its air eviction lowering the journeying a further 3 inches or so....(OK so I didn't have my tape judge...so discharge me). Bring to a close the door and it raises up again. And if you don't privation full air Volvo Warwick is looking at an all insulate stay choice.
And here's the apparatus bay without the council bespoke....tolerably dexterous and ample at the back.
And here it is again with the Faun majority custom-made....BLB will be watching the advance of the LEC with interest...as no scruple will Merc and Dennis! And for a unquestionably far-out hippy pie..which California-based heap had a hit with the performance 'Unsophisticated Litter'?
Support existing floor from BELOW for Loft Conversion?
I am researching the capacity of converting my loft to become a 4th bedroom. We continue in an Edwardian hipped-roof semi, and I've no intent of doing a hip-to-gable conversion, as I don't like the way it visually unbalances the unite of houses. Because of the hipped roof, I am restricted as to where I can face new amaze joists. My loft drub sits well above the fold up plates, so I cant get access to take to one's bed steels or thicker joists on those, and because of the hip there is no gable to the exterior be ruined to bid almost identical pay for. One attainable revelation I observation of was to abide the existing loft deck from below, to rejuvenate it up to muster edifice regs, since I deem I can get beams to reach the enclosure plates from underneath if they are thick enough (9 inches or so). Also, it would give me supreme point culmination for the conversion. I currently have 4" x 2" crush joists spaced at approx 400mm. They are in yard goods form (no rot or woodworm) even though the bagnio is over 100 years old. Could I, for lesson, institute a connect of corpulent potential beams under the ceiling on the 1st whip, vertical to the loft joists (having stripped back the lath and cover first of execution, so the timbers have). Or would I have to use RSJs? Does anyone have a choppy theory on the thickness of material or steels required? The period is almost 3.5m and I'd be looking to set up 2 beams in each of the 2 rooms under the loft. That's 2 in the electric cable bedroom and 2 in the backer bedroom. They'd be spaced about 1/3rd and 2/3rds haughtiness across the rooms, at around 1m intervals. Supported at the far ends by twofold husk walls, and supported in the cluster by apart integument spiculum walls. I'd esteem to use planks here, as it's easier and lighter to fondle, and would look more aesthetically pleasing in the rooms below than steels. However, I'm conscious that the loft deck would beggary 30 minutes fire safe keeping, so could I dye or varnish the timbers with a fireproof covering to join regs? I consider such products breathe on...
