The noise is rising and Playskool are getting timely for some serious fun at the pub's weekly quiz night.

The team, mostly made of teachers, is part of a growing pack heading to quiz nights all over the country.

Playskool have been regulars at the Paddywack Barry's quiz for about a year and a half, work together captain Mia Lawrence said.

It started as a fun way for teachers who were new to the dominion to meet up and socialise, and the team was beginning to draw in more friends each week, she said.

Numbers at grill nights have been rising, and Brendan Lochead, overseer of Auckland-based quiz writing cast Believe it or Not Quiz Nights, reckons attending has been boosted by TV One's Wednesday night television show Nothing Trivial, about a pub interrogate team.
