hi,
i'm truly looking for a stethoscope for my boyfreind. it would be a gift so i want something that he's going to have for a while.. and he's also over seas so something that won't be that costly even if it gets lost.. i was thinking of littman

I am an RN, and have acclimatized Littman stethoscopes and like them a lot. I have not used this model.

I just looked up the 3000. It looks in actuality nice.

I am a little old school, so am wondering

I saw in this flyover site on Littman Stethoscope ( http://www.littmanstethoscopereview.com )
that Littman sound quality is unequaled and even hazy sounds can be heard very well in Littman.
Is it really true?

In broad, yes. If you can pay for their premium scopes.
